FROST FLOWERS Monday is running long Hand stamp is rubbing off Calling it a day soon That's when I hear from you You feel you've run aground You say you've come around Ready to make that move But what is it gonna prove Can't say that nobody wants you The anniversary flowers come through Don't compare it to what I'd do Back when you were mine You're bored with ballet shows Getting tired of rich girls' clothes Longing for simpler times Loving with simpler minds Yeah, maybe we have grown And yes, I'm very much alone But don't trade a restless heart For three to be torn apart Can't say that nobody wants you The anniversary flowers come through Don't compare it to what I'd do Back when you were mine When elements overcome you And in the morning there's frost instead of dew At least there's someone who loves you Like when you were mine Everybody knows there's only one way It's going down Everybody knows you only need A hill to climb My dirt under your nails, wind in your sails Nothing too profound And you'll be back on Broadway I'll be getting back in line Can't say that nobody wants you The anniversary flowers come through Don't compare it to what I'd do Back when you were mine When elements overcome you And in the morning there's frost instead of dew At least there's someone who loves you Like when you were mine

Let It Go 04:22
LET IT GO I heard someone Talkin' 'bout the human race We've been given Another year or two now We'll have our fun And then we're gettin' laid to waste Frozen-out sun Ain't nothin' we can do now If it's so We can waste no time Laying low We should fall outta line And throw All our hesitation Into the sea And let it go Let's just go Let's get going No putting off Or sweating cost Let's just go Go I heard a girl Talkin' 'bout the man she loved She'd searched the world And finally found him 'round here But he's not met her Telling him would be too tough She'd just prefer Knowing that's he's out there If it's so She can waste no time Laying low She should fall outta line And throw All her hesitation Into the sea And let it go Let's just go Let's get going No putting off Or sweating cost Let's just go We'll let it go Let it flow Let it grow wings And what we lack Won't hold back Where we go Go Living as if we are done Counting our numbered days Living as if we are goners Lustful, young and driven Living as if we could run From all the coming haze Living as if we are goners Busted but forgiven Yeah We'll let it go Let's just go Let's get going No putting off Or sweating cost Let's just go We'll let it go Let it flow Let it grow wings And what we lack Won't hold back Where we go We go Let it go Let it go Let it go

WHATEVER YOU WANT Don't stay Don't make it sadder The knife can only cut so deep Whatever you want, you can take Now it don't matter There's nothin' 'round here I wanna keep It's easier now To tell yourself you can breathe It's easy To tell yourself you'll believe Whatever you want You take whatever you want You take whatever you need You take whatever you want Whatever you want Tired eyes Tryin' to pry open I think I might die in my sleep Whoever you wanna berate Now it don't matter There's no one 'round here I need to see It's easier now To tell your friends you can breathe It's easy To tell them all you'll believe Whatever you want You take whatever you want You take whatever you need You take whatever you see Take whatever you want You'll get whatever you want You'll get whatever you need You'll get whatever you want Whatever you want Whatever you want

TAKE ADVANTAGE Keep breathing Never let this life arrest your soul Breathe easy Life will go on After we're done You're falling In and out of love with everything Stop swimming Out of the way Out of the way Pulling the thread undone Watch it unwind to none (Look what it's done to you) Spinning it back to one (So start it up anew) Pulling the thread undone Watch it unwind to none (Look what's in front of you) Spinning it back to one Hey, take advantage of the ones you love Hey, take advantage There's no weaving Stories that will make me stay with you You're dancing Around what is known Your spotlight has grown We're seeing Northern tears will turn to southern rain Still grieving Out on a limb Out on a limb Pulling the thread undone Watch it unwind to none (Look what it's done to you) Spinning it back to one (Start it up anew) Pulling the thread undone Watch it unwind to none (Look what's in front of you) Spinning it back to one Hey, take advantage of the ones you love Hey, take advantage Clinging to what's left of us Hoping you would drop your crutch Flying in a distant breeze Doing what you don't believe Don't believe Don't believe Hey, take advantage of the ones you love Hey, take advantage

LONGER DAYS THAN NIGHTS Here in the park Waiting for dark Longer days than nights Someone will come Take me to where I'm from Longer days than nights Stay young Stay young Don't you travel over hill Or circle the block Eyes upon the clock Never stop paying Paying all the dues That keep a kid's insides From tyin' knots I wish you lots of luck Radio on I don't know the song Longer days than nights The national news Watch my candidate lose Longer days than nights Stay young Stay young Don't you travel over hill Or circle the block Eyes upon the clock Never stop paying Paying all the dues That keep a kid's insides From tyin' knots I wish you lots of luck Cradle to swing First base to ring Stork to routine What once fueled Young men's desires Only finds dead fires When old men tire Stay young Stay young Don't you travel over hill Or circle the block Eyes upon the clock Never stop paying Paying all the dues That keep a kid's insides From tyin' knots I wish you lots of luck

TRIED TO TELL HER With summer lumbering on A heart had to break She'd not known me long I'd known her forever I could never leave her sight But she couldn't see Summer love, it changes color Right along with the trees Couldn't find a way To keep the sunny days from ending I tried to tell her It won't be the same All the perfect days we were spending I tried to tell her Are gonna melt away And run down her face like Maybelline I tried to tell her We won't find a way We don't need to keep on pretending I tried to tell her Once in Winslow Park And once on the beach Then we took our walk Down by the river I found the words and waited For 'em to take No, she only threw her shoes And waded into the wake Couldn't find a way To keep the sunny days from ending I tried to tell her It won't be the same All the perfect days we were spending I tried to tell her Are gonna melt away And run down her face like Maybelline I tried to tell her We won't find a way We don't need to keep on pretending I tried to tell her To come back in Sure, you win There's an undertow Said she knows Couldn't find a way To keep the sunny days from ending I tried to tell her It won't be the same All the perfect days we were spending I tried to tell her Are gonna melt away And run down her face like Maybelline I tried to tell her We won't find a way We don't need to keep on pretending I tried to tell her today

I CAN QUIT YOU BABY So you think you've thrown it down The laying of the law The piece of mind to keep in line A fragile soul Tired of the slippery tongue That I've been letting slide A pretty face won't take the place Of fire and pride You say we won't find a better one We won't find a better one But we won't find what we're looking for here If we don't find a better one We don't find a better one We won't find what we're looking for here Understand, yes I can Quit you baby Lesser men up and ran From you baby Back to where you began 'Cause it's true baby Understand, yes I can Quit you baby I don't need your remedy To soothe a worried mind A panic loving panic button Wastes my time It's gonna be a melancholy day To muddle through But picking at the bones Another night won't do You say we won't find a better one We won't find a better one But we won't find what we're looking for here No Understand, yes I can Quit you baby Lesser men up and ran From you baby Back to where you began 'Cause it's true baby Understand, yes I can Quit you babe Oh I can, I can Rid myself of this drug I can, I can Dig myself from this rut I can, I can, I can Rid myself of this... Rid myself of this drug I can, I can, I can Dig myself... Dig myself...

DREAMING OF SOMETHING LESS Cracks Find a way to fall through Jackhammers through the concrete I wish that you grew up on that street Everywhere everything's Named After someone famous For paving it with small ideas Big enough to get around town now Country doesn't matter No blame for Washing our minds away Just like something That I'd be scared to say We're all dreaming of something Less Dreaming of something less Dreaming of something less Dreaming of something less than right away Less than I'm afraid of you You think that everything's just fine Recognize the enemy "Mine" America believes itself Looking through the mirror And thinks that it's just a window Out there is where we accidentally kill To find out all the answers that truth Truthfully we have... Right here's the blame for Washing our minds away Just like something That I'd be scared to say We're all dreaming of something Less Dreaming of something less Dreaming of something less Dreaming of something less than right away Less than I'm afraid of you Of you Of you Of you I've been dreaming of something less...

ONE LINK IN THE CHAIN I feel it coming down Every market run Every conversation More people coming 'round Some are coming quiet Some kicking and screaming And from the outside in All around the world They want a revolution In dark days the best men win Lesser men will lose their heads Ready or not Ready or not it's coming Ready or not it's come to be We got what we want Got what we all so wanted This is what we all want to see But what cost, hope What cost, change Sacrifice so great It takes just one in 300 million One link in the chain Live on the CNN Words that I should hear But anymore I turn it Afraid of them capturing Something no one's gonna Think could be occurring 140 years Isn't long to get Where we think we're going Try to avoid the fears But lesser men will lose their heads Ready or not Ready or not it's coming Ready or not it's come to be Got what we want Got what we all so wanted This is what we all want to see Yeah But what cost, hope What cost, change Sacrifice so great It takes just one in 300 million One link in the chain

AFTER THE FALL Hey Do you wanna wipe out The doubt you been feeling, oh Hey Do you wanna strike down The frown got you reeling, oh Hey See the little black clouds In crowds on the ceiling, oh no Hey You could try All your life You may never find How to ride On this side of the frail line There's a way, there's a way But only after the fall Will you see the road There's a way, there's a way But only after the fall Will you really know Hey Tuck the little white lies Up tight in the covers, oh Hey Let "The Kids Are Alright" Indict former lovers, oh Hey Kill the stereo light And try not to smother, oh no Hey You don't need Blood to bleed Or catastrophe Not to see You should sharpen your teeth You could try All your life But don't think it wise To align With the might of a frail mind There's a way, there's a way But only after the fall Will you see the road There's a way, tab a day But only after the fall Will you ever know It's only after After the fall It's only after the fall That you take control That you take control It's only after the fall

about

A year and a half in the making, Bay Area rock band Faith In Phantoms released their self-titled 10-song debut album on Friday the 13th of November, 2009.

Largely recorded at FIP drummer Andrew Keating's StickFigure Studios in Novato, CA, "Faith In Phantoms" leads off with pop gems "Frost Flowers" and "Let It Go," seques into the indie-flavored "Whatever You Want" and "Longer Days Than Nights," and ultimately brings the rock with heavy hitters like "Tried to Tell Her," "After the Fall" and "I Can Quit You Baby."

"We just went for it in every way we could think of with this album," says vocalist and bassist Dean Moore. "We tried to infuse every part of every song with a hook, and Alex [Lasner, guitarist] and Andrew were not happy until every guitar track had the perfect vintage tone and vibe. It took awhile to get 10 songs to live up to our expectations, but we're pretty sure it was worth the wait."

A celebration of the album's release was held on the night of November 13 at the 19 Broadway Night Club in Fairfax, CA. Proudly sponsored by Maker's Mark Handmade Kentucky Bourbon, the event also served as a fundraiser for San Francisco's own Autism Hearts Foundation.

Faith In Phantoms also held a CD release party in Hollywood, CA, on Friday, November 20, at the popular Cinespace nightclub on Hollywood Blvd.
